Tilbury Docks - And why I went twice!

I am sure there is a lesson to be learnt here!

Boxes packed and labeled, worldly goods going off somewhere on the ocean for 2 months.
Reminders left everywhere, so why did we get to 10 miles away from the Docks with a van and car load of possessions to discover that Andy's golf clubs are still in the garage at home?
Despite superb help from our friend Ivan, who seemed to be able to pack half the house into a Galaxy, meaning a half empty hire van! And my reminders, it was inevitable that something got left behind. Why not something small that could go in a suitcase though! Our luggage allowance is generous - 54kg each but a set of golf clubs would seriously impact even this! Only one answer - I had to make a lone trip up to Tilbury with the missing clubs. The journey is not too bad from home and the very helpful guy at Shed 31 assured me the clubs would join our other already dropped belongings.
The house is very empty now. We are sleeping on a mattress on the floor and I am discovering how many things I didn't need! Managing to cook a dinner with only a pot  and frying pan.
We are holding an open house - (and open it most certainly will be due to the lack of furniture etc.) for friends and family. Although Andy and Henry will be in the UK until late July, this is the last time we will be together as a family for sometime.
I'll miss Henry's Prom at the end of June, although if it's anything like my eldest son's, I was banished in any case! I will get to go suit hunting with him before I leave though and he will get to go with his cousin to the Green day concert.
The dogs continue to be a concern, but we were extremely grateful to Simon and Dawn who have offered to foster (adopt, Simon says!) them for a few weeks until they can travel on the FIRS to Ascension island in September. We met up with all the dogs at the weekend and although Lucy the German Shepherd was a little under the weather, they all got along just fine.
